DreamConnect 2 FAQ

Staying Connected

DreamSpring now provides a support forum for all our users. Please check the forum for answers to any questions you may have that are not covered by the FAQ's.

Go to the Purchase DreamConnect 2 section of the website. There are detailed step-by-step instructions to guide you in purchasing DreamConnect 2.

We accept payment via PayPal and credit card payments from Mastercard and Visa.

The price of DreamConnect 2 is listed in Euro. However, you will be charged for the equivalent of that in Australian dollars, based on the exchange rate on the day of purchase.

Yes, there is a trial version of DreamConnect 2 available for download on the website.

Go through the normal process on the website to purchase the product. When your purchase is confirmed, an installation key will be issued to you. You can choose to download the product again, or simply enter the installation key details into the trial version. Once the details are entered, the trial version will be converted into a working version with all restrictions removed.

Check that you have entered the details correctly. For example, spaces inappropriately inserted, hyphen (-) versus underscore (_) or numeral 0 versus letter o. If the installation key details still don't work, fill in our support/enquiries form and we'll get back to you quickly.

DreamConnect 2 uses your existing Contacts database. There is no need to reenter or import your contacts. Any changes you make in your standard Contacts application will be shown in DreamConnect 2.

These are default categories that come with the application and can't be changed.

You can fill in the support/enquiries form with the details and we'll investigate it.

DreamConnect 2 is designed to take the minimum space on your machine saving you memory. The installation file is currently 288KB, including online help.

DreamConnect 2 uses your existing Contacts database. So long as your contacts are synced with Outlook, DreamConnect 2 will also work with Outlook. However, since the original Contacts database does not have Categories, DreamConnect 2's Categories can not be synced. We will work on this issue later.

Unfortunately, most vendors don't take interoperability very seriously. Neither Palm nor Microsoft applications support vCard very well (no categories, only one set of address details for home and work, only one note), and attempt to compensate with all sorts of proprietary import/export/sync methods. Apart from the very expensive option of writing specific conversion utilities for each application, there's not much we can do at this point.
