DreamConnect for ER5 v1.33

Current Upgrade, Trial and Purchase Version

The v1.33 version, available from the upgrade download page, the trial page or purchase page, includes the following improvements:

German language fix

DreamConnect v1.32 had a defect that sometimes caused a crash when using the German version. See this defect for more information.

DreamConnect for ER5 v1.32

German language support

DreamConnect now includes both English and German in the installation package. Both German and English speakers can choose their language, assured that all messages and shortcut keys will be consistent, familiar, and easy to understand.

Ericsson MC 218 compatibility

DreamConnect now recognises the Contacts silk-screen icon and screen size for all ER5 keyboard machines, including the revo and revo plus, Series 7 and netBook, and Series 5mx and now the Ericsson MC 218.

DreamConnect for ER5 v1.30

Import contacts from vCard files

It is now possible to import one or more vCards from a file. DreamConnect can handle Outlook Express, Palm, or other vCard formats, and also supports multiple addresses, notes and categories. Any unknown categories are automatically created.

Export contacts to vCard files

It is now possible to export one or more vCards to a file. DreamConnect exports all details to a standard vCard format file. There is no loss of information when using DreamConnect to import vCards exported from DreamConnect, since multiple address details, notes, and categories are all exported.

DreamConnect for ER5 v1.22

The v1.22 version, now superseded, included the following improvements:

Multi-contact Attach and Detach Categories

It is now possible to attach and detach categories from multiple contacts (all contacts currently displayed, such as from the result of a Smart Find).

Smart Find Usability

Smart Find usability has been improved by starting the dialog with the text you type going straight into the text field, rather than the details choice. That means you can start typing your find text immediately without having to navigate down to the text line. Typing the text and pressing Enter will do a Find in any search.

Categories Sorted

Categories are now sorted in alphabetical order, wherever they appear. (Except for Any and None, which are at the top and bottom of the lists, respectively.)

Defects Fixed

Defect 007 has been discovered and fixed.

DreamConnect for ER5 v1.21

The v1.21 version, no longer available, included a fix for users of German netBooks, or using databases originating on such machines. See this defect for more information.

Users of some other versions of the netBook may find this upgrade helpful if they notice problems with Smart Find and some details (such as PO Box).

DreamConnect for ER5 v1.2

Smart Find

Customisable searches on any information within the contact list.

This major feature allows any number of search rules to be applied to your contacts list. Search rules are combined using "and" and "or" logic operators. Search rules can specify any contact detail and whether the search text is contained in the detail or exactly matches it.

Smart find searches can be defined either in a friendly dialog, or via a powerful text syntax.

And for the icing on the cake, the find operation works in the background while you can continue using DreamConnect.

Smart Find + Quick Jump

Immediately jumps to the contact in a list of search results.

Zoom

Five levels of zoom for contact card details and three independent levels for the contacts list make for easy viewing and searching.

Full Keyboard Shortcuts

All features are now accessible via keyboard shortcuts, so you can navigate using only the keyboard.

Improved Menu Layout

The menu layout has been improved to make finding the right command easier.

Configurable Quick Jump

The Quick Jump feature can be disabled for those that prefer the standard Contacts application behaviour.

Defects Fixed

Defects 004 and 005 have been fixed.

DreamConnect for ER5 v1.1

First Upgrade

The first upgrade added these features:

Enhanced Performance

Enhanced performance in loading and actions such as switching Categories and Sorting. DreamConnect helps you find contacts much faster than the standard Contacts application.

Performance Options

Lets you choose between enhanced performance or minimised memory space (with slower performance).

Copy + Paste Contact Details

Your contact details can be copied and pasted whilst maintaining its format. Great for printing your contacts or if you want to insert your contact's details into a document.

Contact Number Display

Displays the total number of contacts you have in your contact list, as well as your current position in your contacts list. DreamConnect also shows the number of contacts within a particular Category or Find outcome.

Improved Contact Card Display

Minor display details have been modified. Your contacts are even more pleasing to look at.

Fixes to Defects

Defects that have previously been identified and posted on the website have been fixed.
