DreamSend FAQ

Readable exchange for Series 60 phones

Useability

DreamSend saves Emails to the Outbox. I have to go to Messages and choose "Send now" to send the message. Is this normal?

Yes, this is the normal, and intended behavior.

The reason DreamSend works that way is so that the user can prepare a batch of messages and send them all at once. If you are using a data line, this is important; for GPRS users, it is not so important.

Why can't I send plain-text or WML files to my (non-smart) phone?

Sending text and WML files to non-smartphones (such as a Sony Ericsson T68i) often won't work.

These phones have no way to handle such data, and so they simply reject it. That's one of the differences between a "feature phone" (like the T68i) and a smartphone (like the Series 60 or UIQ phones).

What do I do if I find a bug/problem in DreamSend?

You can fill in the support/enquiries form with the details and we'll investigate it.

How big is DreamSend?

DreamSend is sophisticated application, so it takes up a bit of space. The installation file is currently around 100KB. When it is installed, it takes less than 200KB.

Purchasing

How do I purchase DreamSend?

Go to the Purchase DreamSend section of the website. There are detailed step-by-step instructions to guide you in purchasing DreamSend.

What kind of payment do you accept?

We only accept credit card payments from Mastercard, Visa and Bankcard.

In what currency will my credit card be charged?

The price of DreamSend is listed in US dollars. However, you will be charged for the equivalent of that in Australian dollars, based on the exchange rate on the day of purchase.

Can I try the product before I buy?

Yes, there is a trial version of DreamSend available for download on the website.

I've tried DreamSend and want to purchase it. What do I do now?

Go through the normal process on the website to purchase the product. When your purchase is confirmed, an installation key will be issued to you. You can choose to download the product again, or simply enter the installation key details into the trial version. Once the details are entered, the trial version will be converted into a working version with all restrictions removed.

The installation key details don't work. What should I do?

Check that you have entered the details correctly. For example, spaces inappropriately inserted, hypen (-) versus underscore (_) or numeral 0 versus letter o. Make sure that the IMEI you entered was the IMEI of your phone (see below). If the installation key details still don't work, fill in our support/enquiries form and we'll get back to you quickly.

How do I find my IMEI code?

When you start the trial version of DreamSend on your phone you will see a registration screen. Scroll to the bottom of that and you will see your IMEI code.

Another method is to enter *#06# from the Phone screen. This will display your IMEI code, although it refers to it as a "Serial no." on screen.

Why won't DreamSend work on my second phone?

DreamSend uses the combination of your name, the phone's IMEI code, and an installation key to unlock the software. It does this unlocking every time it starts up.

The installation key is created from the name and IMEI code that you gave when you purchased DreamSend. If the phone changes then the IMEI code will change and DreamSend won't unlock any more.

If you have replaced your phone and need your copy of DreamSend to run on your new device, then fill in our support/enquiries form, quoting your previous details (including previous IMEI) and contact details for the retailer you returned your phone to, and we'll get back to you quickly.

If you have bought a second phone and would like DreamSend installed on that as well, then you can purchase another copy.
